We recently talked with mom, Tiffany, about life with her two babies, Malcolm 2.5 years old, and Joanie 5 months old. 

1. How old are your little ones? 

My babies are 25 months apart. Malcolm is 2.5 and Joanie is 5 months.

2. How did life change for you by being a mama of two? 

My husband travels for work, he works away typically about 3 weeks out of the month. He had about 2 weeks off with our newborn and then was thrown right back into travel. Things changed drastically for us when he went back to work because I now had a toddler to entertain AND the demand of a newborn.  Finding time for myself whether it be working out or having a moment to myself has changed the most for me as a mother. I had to find a balance early on so that I could make it through each day with a healthy mindset, giving the right amount of attention to both of my kids. 

3. What is motherhood teaching you?

Being a mother of two has taught me patience and forgiveness in a new form. I’ve learned to be more patient as a mother but also forgive myself when things don’t turn out the way I thought  they would. Sometimes, we see what we think we want our days to look like and nothing goes to plan. Someone has a blowout, or a tantrum, doesn’t eat what you make for dinner or simply doesn’t want to do what you want them to do.  You have to forgive yourself for feeling frustrated or impatient and remember that life doesn’t always look like it does in social media or what you “thought” it should look like and that is OK.

4. What would you say is the best part of being a mom? 

I love milestones, I am definitely a milestone mama. When they do something new, learning a new song or for our little one rolling over, etc I enjoy seeing their sense of accomplishment and pride. I’d say one of the best things about being a mama though is the way my children smile at me, it absolutely melts my heart. Seeing them giggle together and the cuddles, the cuddles are the BEST
